So, what is in the box? The box contains one selfie stick with Bluetooth remote control, a Micro USB cable and a warranty card. That's it! The packaging is incredibly minimalist and simple – just like the selfie stick itself.

The detachable Bluetooth remote control is the highlight of this product. The selfie stick itself is all black with a small and delicate body – super portable and travel friendly! It features a shutter button and a LED indicator on the top of the surface.

USB Charging

One of the best features of this selfie stick is the hidden charging port. It can be charged via a micro USB port located on the bottom surface.

How to Pair the Selfie Stick with Your Smartphone?

Bluetooth remote control enables the ATUMTEK Selfie Stick to connect to smartphones running on Android 5.0 and above as well as iOS 7.0 and higher.

For this review, I will use iPhone X to pair it with the selfie stick.

Step 1: Enable Pairing Mode 

Long press the shutter button for about 2 seconds until the green LED light flashes, indicating that the selfie stick has entered into pairing mode.

Step 2: Enable Bluetooth on iPhone

Go to Settings on the phone, turn on Bluetooth and search for nearby Bluetooth devices - the ATUMTEK Selfie Stick will show up as “ATUMTEK”.

Step 3: Pair the Devices

Choose “ATUMTEK” . Once the devices are paired successfully, the green LED light will be steady.

Step 4: Choose Camera Option

Finally choose “Phone” or “Video” function on phone camera. Now you can use ATUMTEK Bluetooth remote to take selfie pictures or videos.

 Step 5: Pose and Snap!

Now use the remote to snap and capture as many pictures as you want!

 

How to Use the Selfie Stick Tripod?

Step 1: Hold in the middle position of the selfie stick and use the other hand to pull out the top cap about 2cm.

Note: Push out three of the legs attached to the stem at the button to activate the tripod if you want to use the tripod. Then, the tripod will open automatically when pulling out the aluminum alloy telescopic arm. Manual operation is prohibited.

Step 2: Hold the middle of the smartphone holder and pull out the aluminum alloy telescopic arm to your suitable length.

Step 3: Widthwise set your phone inside the smartphone holder by releasing the top cap.

Note: Please avoid pressing the buttons of your phone.

 

How to Fold the Selfie Stick Tripod?

Step 1: Remove your mobile phone by releasing the top cap.

Step 2: Hold from the middle position of the selfie stick and use the other hand to push the aluminum alloy telescopic arm back from the top cap.

Note: If you have opened the tripod, the tripod will close automatically when you push back the aluminum alloy telescopic arm. Manual operation is prohibited.

 

3-in-1 Design of ATUMTEK Selfie Stick Tripod

As the famous saying goes, you cannot have your cake and eat it. But in case of the ATUMTEK Selfie Stick, I have to say that you can. You will get both: a selfie stick and a tripod!

You can start off by using it just as any other selfie stick: Simply mount your phone into the phone clip and rotate the bracket to get the right angle. Then, pull out the telescopic lever, adjust it to a desirable length and get ready to pose shamelessly – there are no strangers behind the camera to judge you.

The Verdict

Essentially, the tripod holder is suitable for indoor use, especially for live video, hands-free recording, video chatting etc. I am not sure how well the tripod would do outdoors as it comes with a pretty lightweight design and may not be able to handle rocky terrain or rough weather conditions.

With that said, having a tripod is incredibly handy – you won't need to carry additional equipment and will be able to snap selfies from afar thanks to the Bluetooth remote control.

I like the detachable design of the Bluetooth remote control, since it enables you to have time to pose properly before triggering the shutter. The remote control can be attached to the body of the device but is removable. You can move around with it as long as the remote control is within the Bluetooth range (33 feet).
